What is Swim:ED?

“We saved approximately £7,000 per year by losing the transport costs. When our old swimming provider reported that no child could meet all three National Curriculum objectives for swimming after a year of weekly swimming and said it was down to schools and not the providers to be accountable for outcomes, we knew we had to make a change. Swim:ED was that change. Children’s outcomes for swimming were greatly improved. Water safety was really valued and children’s confidence in the water increased. Parents were very on-board and there was no lost learning. In two years, our year 6s have gone from 0% passers to 80%, which is incredible.”

Rachel, the instructor and Elliot, the lifeguard, worked closely with school staff to ensure that the complex needs of the children were understood and that sessions were adapted appropriately. “The impact of our partnership with Swim:ED and the installation of the pop-up swimming pool right here on our school site has been incredible.
